Hi.  Welcome.  I noticed you noticing me.  Well, not me – my blog.  Yeah, I know – blogs are so hot right now.

What’s that you say?  “Blogs are so 2008”?  “Do you still use Friendster too”?  Ouch, Anonymous Internet Friend.

So you have established that I am not modern or hip.  But you came by to visit, so now you get to sit here and learn about me and us and this blog and our house.  Unless you decide to leave this page to go back to playing Farmville on Facebook.  Which I am told I cannot legally prevent you from doing.

ninety-nine problems is about the adventures of one Couple and one Moody Cat in home ownership.  But really it is about so much more.  The meaning of life?  Probably not.  But it is about cooking, and wine and beer, and adventures in building and decorating stuff.  And probably some other things too.

Why “ninety-nine problems”?  Where to begin …

Our house is old.  Our cat is Moody.

Also it is the song my Semi-Willing Life/Love Partner and I walked down the aisle to at our wedding.  It is funny because we are two women.  So it works both ways.  See?  Clever, I know.  If you don’t get it, google “Jay-Z 99 problems” and read the first lyric.  If you still don’t get it, I probably can’t help you.

And it is funny because it is true – the part about walking down the aisle to the song, and the part about the Semi-Willing Love/Life Partner not being one of my 99 problems.  (Love you Dear)

So when it comes down to it, my 99 problems are pretty good ones to have.  They are about painting, and making furniture, and growing things, and drinking even better things.  And hopefully not losing a hand as I dive into the world of power tools.

So grab a drink, make yourself at home.  We hope to see you around more.
